Lovely to go for a walk along the coastline as spring finally sets in. Several images from my wanderings around Blyth harbour with a friend.

OPFOR Living History shoot
Sunday was spent assisting on a shoot for Blyth Battery and OPFOR living history group, as well as getting some images of my own from said shoot. Good fun was had and nice images were captured. All in all a success.
More images to follow...
The tide is high...
Several shots from saturdays excursion to the Northumbrian coast. Amble harbour was rather dramatic as a result of high tides.
After taking this shot, I ended up being caught out by the waves and rather wet. The results however were worth it.
The image above was a very luckily timed shot of my new friend in the harbour! Beautiful creature and seemingly very curious.

The eclipse.. it had to be photographed... didn't it?
Like thousands of others I was anxiously awaiting the darkening sky this morning, camera in hand. A few breaks in the clouds allowed for some decent shots of this rare event..
I am rather proud that my images were featured in local news articles, thanks to the Morpeth Herald.

Experimentation..
This image was the result of wanting to try new approaches to some well photographed paths. I may build on this in the future..

Self Portraiture
I have to admit that self portraiture is not my thing. The mere thought conjures images in my mind of 'selfies' and teenage girls snapping their reflections in loo mirrors whilst pouting simultaneously.
This is my finished work.. It is surprisingly difficult to try to portray oneself!
A project in the planning..
In the next week I am intending to use this photograph of Lily Cole as inspiration for a magazine cover style beauty shoot. The idea of flowers in the shot appealed to me as a trained florist and to my eyes, the simplicity of the image is very effective. Photo by Tim Walker.

A trip to the country...
As part of my unusual occupation degree brief I today visited Ryal for a location shoot with Historical Buildings Consultant and friend of mine, Peter Ryder. This was also a good opportunity to photograph the area and architecture. Although not properly sorted from my memory card, having only been back a few hours more will follow on this!

A long walk and a play with the camera..
Rather enjoying the mild weather and the chance to get out and about to shoot. Todays mixed results, a weir always calls for some long exposure!
Taken at Bothal, Northumberland.

An exercise in outdoor lighting..
Braving a very windy, cold, yet bright day today for some experimental location shots with David, Nicolas and Georgina. The intention of this exercise was to compare the effects of various methods of flash in such conditions. Results are yet to be seen!
